Environmental responsibility is a cornerstone of AIIM’s business model. We are currently evaluating our participation in the ISO 14001 Environmental certification. This rigorous process ensures that AIIM implements, maintains and continuously improve its environmental management system. The environmental system aligns to governed environmental laws and regulations and ensures best in class practices are deployed in the area of environmental and ecological business practices.
In addition, AIIM has been awarded the Chain of Custody (CoC) Certificate from the Forest Stewardship Council of Canada. This honour is a voluntary and market-based instrument whereby products that originate from well managed forests are identified by the recognized FSC trademark. The certification is awarded to companies that demonstrate a commitment to reduce deforestation and degradation therefore sourcing products that are cultivated from properly managed forests. AIIM is one of 4,021 companies globally, and 124 in Canada with this designation.
Our commitment to helping the environmental is further entrenched in our manufacturing processes. AIIM was one of North America’s early adopters of Computer to Plate (CTP) technology which reduced film production by 98%. This in turn virtually eliminated the waste derived from traditional film production. Furthermore, our presses are free of alcohol as AIIM utilizes only vegetable based inks and coatings are water based products. |
