During August 2007, the WSIB (Ontario Workers Safety and Insurance Board) performed a work-well audit at the AIIM facility. “Work-well” is an Ontario government program designed to ensure a safe work place and assign financial penalties to those companies that fail to successfully pass the audit. According to statistics nearly 75% of businesses fail the WSIB “work-well” audit.
AIIM received a grade of 87.6%. Michael Corbett, Director (Operations) says that the results prove hard work pays off. “We’re very happy the Workwell Audit has been successfully concluded, thanks to the diligent efforts of many and, in particular, our Health and Safety Coordinator,” says Corbett, encouraging all staff to work safely and think safety. “Everyone at AIIM took personal interest and accountability for our safety efforts and we have moved forward on the path towards building a safety culture.”
